NAID SEEKS MEMBER COMMENTS ON ASTM SAFETY GUIDELINES

For almost a year, the NAID Health and Safety Committee has been working within the framework of the American Society for Testing Materials, International (ASTM) to develop safety guidelines specifically focused on the challenges and issues facing the secure information destruction industry. The committee is proud to announce that it is ahead of schedule, having already produced a draft of the guidelines.

On October 2nd, the ASTM Committee will meet to review, modify and approve the 117-page document prior to moving on the next step.

The Standard Guide for Document Destruction Facility Safety Requirements is now available for member review and comment. Comments must be submitted by September 20th in order to be considered during the October 2nd review.

Ultimately, the final standard will be put forth to the entire ASTM/ANSI community for approval.
