AUSTRALIAN LAW REFORM COMMISSION REPORTS UNSECURE RECORDS

On August 16, 2008, an article posted on the Australian News website provided information on recommendations by the Australian Law Reform Commission for securing patient privacy and medical records. The 2700 page report reveals the discovery of repeated issues with medical document security. The Australian Medical Association is reported to support the ALRC recommendations for patient record privacy and security.

News like this reinforces the fact that internationally both federal government and medical associations are supportive of certified information security and destruction.
