IOWA SCHOOL UNDER FIRE FOR RECORDS DISPOSAL PROCEDURES

Parents of students allege that school and health records for dozens of students ended up in the trash, or on the auction block, after crews cleaned out the only school building in Russell, IA, which had been closed a month prior, states an article in the Des Moines Register’s website on August 7th. The posting claims that the event resulted when laborers emptied the school’s records room.

Other people have come forward stating that they bought filing cabinets that still contained student’s personal information, according to the report.
