CHECK STUBS BLOW FROM DUMPSTER

Checks stubs found blowing behind a Palm Beach County, FL area gas station, evidently came from the dumpster they were tossed into unceremoniously by a local business, according to a broadcast report on August 14th, by Kara Kostanich of WFLX, a local TV station.   The report claims that the names and Social Security Numbers of more than 200 of the firm’s workers have been compromised as a result.

The TV station reports that it checked in with the State Attorney General's Office and according to Florida State Statute, "any person who conducts business in this state and maintains computerized data in a system that includes personal information shall provide notice of any breach of the security of the system."

Reportedly, the State Attorney General's Office is looking into this incident.
