NAID CERTIFICATION CITED IN PRIVACY JOURNAL ARTICLE
 
The May 2008 edition of The Privacy Advisor, the monthly journal of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), featured a front page article on the rising incidents of problems and publicity related to discarding information without first properly destroying it. The article was the product of a session on the same topic at a recent IAPP event.
 
Among the advice given to readers in the article with regard to selecting a destruction service, was to review any certifications the vendors possess and specifically reference NAID Certification as being applicable in such reviews – the only certification that is specifically referenced.
