SCHOOL EMPLOYEES VICTIMS FALL VICTIM TO CASUAL DISPOSAL
According an article on April 12th on the Houston Chronicle’s webpage, an obsolete benefits roster casually discarded in the trash is believed to be responsible for a rash of identity theft affecting local teachers' and other school employees.
The improperly discarded list contained the personal information of 3,400 employees. At least 64 are known to have been victimized, including one person who had $25,000 in bogus charges on credit cards.
