MEDICAL RECORDS ABANDONED

An article by Michelle Lang appearing on the website of the Calgary Herald on April 4th reports that an area medical clinic abandoned 3,000 patient files when it closed its doors.

According to the article, when the head physician at the clinic suffered a stroke and the remaining doctors decided to quit the practice, more than filling 111 boxes of records were left behind.

Authorities report that the problem of abandoned files is more common than most realize.
